Techniques involve using a sewing machine and a serger (although there is a hem option if you don’t have a serger), sewing through thick fabric, using iron-on interfacing.
About the bag:
I designed the Mighty Traveler because I wanted a streamlined project bag that wouldn’t take up a lot of space in my purse. But I also wanted structure so it would be easy to knit from. What I came up with is a bag (and a bowl) that works just as well on-the-go as it does at home.
Reasons I love it:
- The tie-top cinches down which keeps the knitting inside snug and in place. No matter how bumpy the ride, when I open the bag things will be just as I left them - no jumbled mess inside.
- It’s versatile. The bag can be tied around a wrist, the arm of a chair, or anywhere that might make knitting on-the-go convenient. Alternatively, it works just as well set on a tabletop, couch, chair, or lap.
- No buttons, zippers, or snaps for yarn to get stuck on, which also makes for fuss-free sewing.
